Different Car Models, Different Flaws
Different cars carry different risks and therefore the insurance costs will tend to vary accordingly. For instance the wildly popular SUVs will usually cost much more to insure because of their tendency to easily roll over at high speed. These vehicles were really not designed for high speed, but as rugged vehicles for rough terrain.
